Hoar Cross Hall Spa Hotel
Staffordshire
Hoar Cross Hall is a former stately home set in around 100 acres of gardens, woodland and parklands. The hall was designed by Henry Clutton and constructed around 1870 in the Elizabethan style with Jacobean overtones.
Hoar Cross was sensitively restored by the current owner in the late 1980s, with the health spa and overnight accommodation opening in the early 1990s.
An ambitious extension project by Guy Taylor Associates involved the construction of a large semi-basement building, with a formal Italianate garden over the roof. By lowering the new building into the ground, the impact upon the historic building was minimised and the setting of the building enhanced by the addition of a landscaped roof terrace.
Our recent work at the spa includes a new sunken courtyard area due to open in late 2012.
Hoar Cross Hall has been the winner of the world travel awards for 7 consecutive years, enjoying widespread coverage in the national press.
