Mixed Housing Development

New high-quality dwellings within a historic farmstead and in the open countryside

The project proposed five new dwellings on the site of a range of redundant modern farm buildings, within an historic farmstead in Lincolnshire. We engaged the LPA in pre-application discussions and worked with a planning consultant to secure permission for the new dwellings using Class Q permitted development as a planning fallback to allow permission to be granted for 5 new dwellings in the open countryside. The small development comprises a mix of high-quality houses designed to mimic the traditional forms, layout, massing, and materiality, of historic barns in the area, whilst using contemporary detailing to deliver a scheme that respects its setting whilst remaining modern.
