ETNA Centre

Working alongside Focus Consultants, Guy Taylor Associates has supported the Vulcan to the Sky Trust to undertake an options appraisal and initial concept designs to explore proposals for the trust's proposed legacy for Avro Vulcan XH558 following its retirement from flight in October 2015.

Named the ETNA Centre, after Mount Etna; the location of the mythical god Vulcan's workshop. The Etna project will encompass an aviation academy, a heritage centre and the ETNA centre; an innovative new facility with Avro Vulcan XH558 as a centrepiece. Here, new generations can be inspired by a range of emerging, current and historic technologies, aimed at encouraging youngsters in to aviation, engineering and technology.

We have worked tirelessly to develop a scheme which matches the ambitions of the Vulcan to the Sky trust and upholds their key values; inspiring visitors, and showcase engineering and technology through its design, whilst providing a home for the iconic Avro Vulcan XH558 in her retirement from flight.
