New home in Greenbelt

Cheshire

This new home in the Cheshire Green Belt replaces a small bungalow which was in very poor condition. In addition to their desire for a Low-Energy/ Sustainable Home the client was also in great need of more space. The design provides a separate ‘Living Block’ and ‘Sleeping Block’. These two blocks respond to landscape and minimise any negative impact. The two storey Living Block is positioned to blend into the trees while the low height Sleeping Block avoids any obstruction to views across the Green Belt. Natural materials of Timber and Slate are complementary to the rural setting. The layout of the building and windows have been carefully planned around day and night time functions. The Living Block contains a multiple level broken plan with functions such as Kitchen, Dining, Living Room, Study and Play Room that all interact with each other. Further to this, every room has spectacular views across a beautiful landscape.
