Guy Taylor Associates were commissioned by the 35th Markeaton Scouts to design a new scout’s hut, located in Derby, to support the growth of Scouting in the area, through the provide a vibrant new space for various youth groups and community activities, to replace of their existing building.

Funded by a Youth Investment Fund grant, this development is one of 140 youth projects across England selected by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and the Social Investment Business. The new building will replace the existing structure, which is currently used by the scouts, transforming the site and expanding their capacity.

Located on Watson Street, the new centre will build on the group’s 110-year legacy, offering a dedicated space for youth and community events. The space will also support individuals aged 4 to 25 and be available to other members of the community.
