Thorpes Warehouse

A Grade II Listed Former Malthouse Located Adjacent to the River Trent into an Office & Apartment Conversion

Thorpes Warehouse is a Grade II listed former malthouse, located adjacent to the River Trent in Newark.

The ambitious proposals involved the restoration and conversion of the building, which was last used as a pottery, into high-quality offices and apartments with stunning views of the river and Newark Castle.

The retention of the key features which give the building its character was an integral part of the design approach, both inside and out. Brickwork was cleaned and repointed, windows were upgraded, and a new sign was hand-painted on to the outside of the building. Internally, cast iron columns were exposed, and brick reveals were retained to window openings.

The works were completed in Autumn 2024 bringing a new life and vitality to the building and the surrounding area.
