Harrington Hall Restoration
Complete reconstruction to parts of the interiors and extensive restoration works to a Grade I listed building
Harrington Hall is a 17th century, Grade I Listed private family residence situated amongst extensive historic gardens dating back to the Tudor and Georgian periods. The gardens at Harrington are said to be the subject of Alfred Lord Tennyson’s famous poem Come into the Garden, Maud.
The house unfortunately suffered a devastating fire in 1991 and was almost burnt to the ground. The subsequent renovation project involved an almost complete reconstruction of the interior and extensive restoration work to the surviving facades. The house was painstakingly restored to its former glory, with the addition of some modern innovations such as underfloor heating.
Harrington hall has been featured in various print publications including Country Life and Nottinghamshire Today. Our practice was awarded a Europa Nostra award in 1995 for our work returning the hall to its past grandeur.
