Contemporary Remodel Of Victorian Terrace

London

The proposal for this period terrace in London includes both ground floor and roof top extension to create larger and more flexible living spaces. New connectivity with the garden has been achieved with large amounts of clear glazing which in turn brings large amounts of natural light into what was a very dark deep plan.

The pitched roof form which was developed for the ground floor extension moves away from the conventional approach of flat roofs and allows for more environmentally friendly, breathable roofing materials to be used. The proposed charred timber cladding has been selected for its ability to blend with the existing slate roof tiles and because there is no requirement for painting this material in the future.
