The house is located within the conservation area of Newark, featuring stunning views of the riverside and adjacent town lock. The project involved the renovation and re-imagining of two townhouses within a historic mill building, combining high quality contemporary interior design with traditional architecture to create a unique and characterful home.

The renovation involved an extensive redesign of the buildings interior, including a new oak staircase to the riverside property and a bespoke kitchen solution recalling the New England style of the interior spaces. The removal of the garages enabled the installation of large areas of glazing, flooding the living space with light.

A yard to the rear was transformed into a contemporary courtyard garden with riverside views, giving the property a sense of connection between the indoor and outdoor space and celebrating the unique riverside location.
