Longford Grange is a 19th century, Grade II Listed private family residence situated amongst extensive historic gardens dating back to the late Georgian period.
Guy Taylor Associates was commissioned to prepare designs for internal alterations. Following onsite investigations and building research at the Historic Environment Record office, we sought to understand the chronology of the building to minimise the impact of the proposed alterations on historic fabric. During this process we worked very closely with the Local Conservation Officer.
Modern family provisions were inserted into the building as unobtrusively as possible. The ground floor former servants area, consisting of a later 19th century extension was re-ordered to accommodate a new kitchen / dining space. New services, boilers, washing machines etc were also carefully installed to reduce their impact on the historic fabric.
